🇭🇷 Croatia

< 2015 Annual Family Trip >

A 1hr 50 plane journey from the UK to Croatia.

Love looking at the clouds from above!

.

.

.

.

🚙 Now as always, our journey starts in the car!

So...for our annual family trip,

we have our very own personal Tour Guide: our father.

He gives us free history lessons and literally

talks us through every step of the journey!

Here are some of the top RECOMMENDED places

to visit when you go to Croatia.

.

.

.

.

👍 Plitvice Lakes National Park

Interesting fact: This National Park inspired the film "Avatar."

I loved how this place was so....silent.

Also because we were the only one's there...

.

.

.

After walking around for a bit,

we took a boat to get to the other side of the park.

A few selfies on the way!

Embracing the only thing I could hold on to that moment.

.

.

Once we arrived, we headed out towards the waterfall.

.

.

.

A cute little hut we came across along the path ☺

Reminded me of Winnie the Pooh 🐻

.

.

.

Here we have arrived!

I wish I could have recorded the sound of the waterfall.

Here are the family friends we stayed with. 🙆

.

.

The National Park is massive,

so we ended up walking for over an hour.

Towards the end, we had all taken our coats off!

.

.

Finally, we made it to the top.

.

.

Now time for our annual sister jump shot!

Ready? 1 2 3!

.

.

Nooo!!! One more time!

I think that will do...

.

.

Our last family photo at the park : )

.

.

If you are looking for some peace and quiet,

this is the place for you. 👆

.

.

.

👍 Postojna Caves (Slovenia)

You had to take a railway train to get into the cave.

The cave was huge!

Fortunately, we had audio guides to explain each section.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to take many photos inside :(

.

.

All I have are selfies!

One of my favourite family photos of the trip!

.

. The cave is definitely worth going,

it is really quite fascinating!

👍 Hiking

(No particular name, we just walked wherever we could!)

To be honest... I was so scared that

a bear would attack us! (Especially here) Bears are known to roam around the streets in Croatia.

But, graciously, we weren't eaten alive!

I felt like Moses...

After a long walk,

we went hiking deep into the woods

to find....yes...wait for it..

.

.

.

a mushroom!

My papa looks so happy! Ha so cute!

Last but not least...

.

.

.

.

👍 Split (City in Croatia)

Split is the second-largest city of Croatia

and lies on the Eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea.

It is also a very touristy area.

.

A 2hr 30 drive to Split.

On the road again...

.

.

.

After sleeping...sleeping and sleeping we finally arrived!

There are monuments, cafes, great restaurants,

food markets and other nice places to chill. This was the first place we visited just as a family!

🇭🇷 To wrap up my experience in Croatia. Croatia in general seemed to be a very tranquil country.

Of course an area like Split is a lot more busy due to tourists,

but our trip in Croatia was one with a lot of stillness. It was lovely to embrace the nature of Croatia.
