< 2016 Annual Family Trip >

Our 6 night, 7 day trip had us

driving from Thessaloniki to Athens.

.

.

Our route: Thessaloniki -> Meteora -> Zakynthos -> Korinthos -> Athens

.

.

.

.

🔱 Thessaloniki

Unfortunately, my sister was in bed with the flu...

So the first day I roamed around with my parents.

Detectives uncovering another ancient monument...

.

.

My father enjoys walking spontaneously without a map,

luckily, we always seem to arrive somewhere amazing 🙈

.

.

At the port 🌤️

A photo for the married couple is compulsory 📷

.

.

Cute fairy catching a star ⭐

.

.

'Aristotelous Square'

This is a lovely area to walk and have a cup of coffee ☕

.

.

We only spent one night here and

hit the road to our next destination 🚘

.

.

( 2hr40 - 3hr drive )

.

.

🔱 Meteora

"...is a formation of immense monolithic pillars and hills

like huge rounded boulders which dominate the local area."

This was the view from the hotel balcony. Breathtaking.

.

.

Once again, my sister was ill in bed.

So the three of us drove to get a closer look at Meteora.

.

.

We drove up to one of the monasteries.

We were fortunate to make it 15 minutes before closing time.

.

.

Driving back down, my Papa asked me to

take a picture of him pretending to make a phone call..ha..ha

.

.

The view below was amazing too!

.

.

Annual jump shot!

It was a shame we didn't get to take any pictures with Esther...

But we managed to take a quick drive back up in the

morning before moving to our Third destination.

.

.

( 6 hr 30 - 7 hrs drive, including ferry )

.

.

🔱 Zakynthos Island

"...is a Greek Island in the Ionian Sea where

the harbour city of Zakynthos is the capital and major hub."

Esther's alive!

.

.

The water was so clear....love love love

.

.

Now some of you may know that the famous K-drama,

'Descendants of The Sun' was filmed on this island.

SO...we were on the lookout for Joonki Oppa.

.

. And guess what we found!!! Wahh!!

I'm 100% sure that it has zero relation

to him, but we still got excited 🎉

Couldn't leave without a selfie 📷

.

.

Greece is famous for their olive trees 🕊️

My sister insisted on getting out of the car to take pictures.

.

.

.

👍 We finally reached our destination!

A photo Hotspot of Navagio Beach

"...is the site of a famed 1980 shipwreck

resting in a sandy cove framed by cliffs."

.

.

Also recognised as the famous deserted island

that comes out in the K-drama.

Normally, you can get on a boat to the island, but it was Christmas Day and the ports were empty.

.

.

.

Until! We came across a trio who had made a call

to get a private boat-ride to the deserted beach.

They asked if we wanted to join...of course, we said yes!

.

.

.

Just our luck!!! Here we go!

We got super wet from the waves 🌊

.

.

After a 15 minute boat ride, we finally arrived.

This was the closet that we could get!

.

.

A photo with our Man!

.

.

.

As a bonus, our guide took us

to many caves and other great photo sites.

.

.

Once arriving back, our guide told us that (below) was where

they had filmed the kiss scene in the K-drama.

Couldn't remember which scene,

b'coz there were too many kiss scenes 😂

.

.

After, we got dinner nearby

and headed back to the villa for some rest.

Playing our all time favourite family card game: "Bbung"!

.

.

The next morning we drove to our

Fourth destination: Korinthos.

.

.

( 4hr 30 drive )

.

.

🔱 Korinthos (Corinth)

.

.

👍 Corinth Canal

"The Corinth Canal is a canal that connects

the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea."

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

For an amazing view and exhilarating feeling.

.

.

👍 Delphi: The Temple of Apollo

"The remains of the temple lie on a terrace

which is on the highest part of the city"

Upon checking out Corinth briefly, we drove straight

to our last destination, Athens.

.

.

( 2hr 30 drive )

.

.

.

🔱 Athens

.

.

👍 Temple of Poseidon

This is my father's favourite landmark.

The first time he came to visit he was younger than

me, it brought him back old memories!

.

.

This was the first unplanned place we visited.

.

.

Ready for our annual jump shot?

👯‍♀️

.

.

Now, by this time of the trip,

I had caught a cold and a mini eye infection.

This was me for the whole day...so we called it a day!

.

.

The next day was our last day in Greece 🙋

.

.

👍 Acropolis of Athens

"...is an ancient citadel located on an extremely rocky outcrop

above the city of Athens and contains the remains of several

ancient buildings of great architectural and historic significance,

the most famous being the Parthenon."

.

.

👑 Temple of Athena Nike

"The Temple of Athena Nike is a temple on the Acropolis of Athens.

It was named after the Greek goddess, Athena Nike."

You could see the whole city from up here!

.

.

That was the end of our trip!

.

.

This is the first trip where I remember

all the names of the places we visited!

.

.

.

Lemme end with a selfie!

Thank you to everyone who took the time to read through! All the places above I recommend to you if/when

you ever visit Greece.

'Till next time 👊
